viewing the siteecodyfi (the Dyfi Eco Valley Partnership) has reorganized and expanded the Dyfi valley website. The designer, David Thorpe of Cyberium, re-launched the site at an open day today (Wednesday).

ecodyfi.org.uk is a one-stop bilingual online community resource. ecodyfi, the valley's development organisation, has re-designed it to provide special resource pages for its different audiences: local people, local businesses and visitors.

The site's aim is to encourage people to discover more about what there is and what's happening in the area, and to promote and develop local business. It does this by encouraging people to get involved, use local services and get access to advice and grant aid.

It also promotes the area to the outside world, so tourism-related businesses would do well to link up to the site if they haven't done so already. It's this aspect that encouraged Barclays to pay for the site's development. They wanted to help the area's businesses recover from the effects of the foot-and-mouth period.

It will continue to expand to cover the local culture, history and resources - so ecodyfi is asking local people to provide information and events news. It also includes a wealth of information about ecodyfi itself and its programmes, a map, a copious links page, and a full calendar of local events.

The calendar is kept up to date by Jan Morgan of Corris. "I hope organizers will be able to avoid clashes with competing events by checking the calendar before confirming their dates", she said. Events information can be emailed to events@ecodyfi.org.uk.

Any suggestions for additions and improvements to the site are always welcome. This is your commnity web site!
