Kerbside collection: Machynlleth

Door to door recycling started in Machynlleth week commencing 2nd February 2004

Residents are given two rolls of clear sacks with BLACK and RED writing on.

Use the black printed bags for:

  • Light cardboard - flattened
  • Newspapers and telephone directories magazines and junk mail - remove all plastic wrappers
  • Clothes - dry ond clean but not necessarily useable
  • Textiles - curtains, sheets, towels and blankets
  • Handbags, belts and shoes - tied into pairs

Use the red printed bags for:

  • Plastic bottles - washed, squashed and tops off
  • Tins and cans - rinsed and squashed
  • Clean aluminium foil and trays
  • CDs
  • Carrier bags and plastic film - put all into one bag

No glass!

Bags are sorted by hand so broken glass could cause an injury.

No food waste, plastic tubs/trays or any other unrecyclable waste!
