How much waste of what types do we produce in the valley?

We need to know the answer to help us reduce, reuse and recycle it.

In 2003, a very basic audit was made on which groups were involved in waste work in the area and, very roughly, what waste is produced and where.

This helped us prioritise our work.

We are now applying for funds to conduct a far more in-depth waste audit.

We will use this information to establish which materials are leaving the area, where most waste is produced, etc.

This will have a number of functions:

• as an informative tool for retaining valuable resources in the valley
• as an educational resource and
• as a planning document for future work.
