Bws Biosffer – new service links local attractions

A new scheme over the summer holidays will give local people and visitors an opportunity to enjoy local attractions and reserves without using a car. Running from the 31st of July and throughout August, the Bws Biosffer service will provide a convenient way to travel to key Biosphere attractions every Wednesday and Sunday.

The special bus will take passangers on a route that stops at The Dyfi Osprey Project, RSPB Ynyshir Nature Reserve and Ynyslas Visitor Centre and Sand Dunes, twice a day. Each key attraction along the route has organised events which are timed to coincide with the bus arrival times .

“Bws Biosffer is part of the “Sustainable tourism in the Dyfi Biosphere project” said Gwawr Davalan from ecodyfi, “it offers an easy way to visit some of the area’s key attractions without using your car. The bus has a low floor which makes it suitable for wheelchair users as well as parents with buggies. Meaning that passangers gan hop-on, hop-off the bus at any a number of different locations and explore what the area has to offer.”

The Bws Biosffer driver, from local company Lloyds Coaches, will be ready to answer any questions regarding the Dyfi Biosphere and information will be provided on the Bus. The timetable means that those arriving by train at Borth or Machynlleth can conveniently combine both means of transport.

The bus will run from the 31st of July every Wednesdsay and Sunday until the 28th of August. Tickets must be purchased beforehand and a full list of locations where they can be purchased can to be found on or on 01654 703 965
