Join ecodyfi's real nappy trial, save money & reduce our rubbish.
ecodyfi is inviting five families living in the Dyfi Valley to try out a set of 'Real Nappies'.
Real Nappies are a washable, comfortable, trendy modern alternative to disposables, which will save you money & reduce rubbish.
The scheme will complement the recent launches of real nappy campaigns by both Powys & Ceredigion county councils.
With funding from Environment Wales, ecodyfi will provide a full set of real nappies & support from experienced nappy volunteers throughout the trial, which is to last one year.
ecodyfi's aim is to highlight how real nappies are effective in saving money, reducing rubbish & providing comfort for your baby.
Previous trials have shown that over a number of years, using washable nappies is considerably cheaper than buying disposables and a single disposable nappy takes 500 years to break down in a landfill site.
What will be expected of the families involved?
- You will need to be living in the Dyfi Valley.
- You will need access to nappy washing facilities.
- You will need to be willing to have your experiences reported in local & national newspapers & magazines.
- You will need a child presently using disposables, or be expecting a baby in June or July.
If you are interested in taking part in this trial or simply want to know more about real nappies, then call Tom O'Kane at ecodyfi on 01654 703 965.
