The Dyfi Valley Communities First Programme has made steady progress during the first quarter of the year!

The Facilitator, Cyril Evans, is arranging meetings and events with some of the identified interest groups as the Community consultation process continues to try and find out the needs, views and interests of the community.

Cyril would welcome the opportunity to listen to anybody's views, suggestions and ideas regarding the future of the Dyfi Valley because probably for the first time, the people that matter- you, yourselves, now have a real opportunity to have your say in the future of this beautiful valley of ours.

If you would like to find out more about Communities First then drop in for a chat as an individual, or if you would like Cyril to address your group or organisation, then please contact the office to make arrangements.

The Communities First office has now moved to permanent premises at Ty Bro Ddyfi, which is a 'Community Enterprise Centre' shared with other community organisations.

The steering group

The steering group was recently expanded to thirteen members, with further representation from the Llanbrynmair area to follow. This will add to the considerable experience, skills and knowledge of the area that the group already possessed.

The group and the Facilitator will now look to form 'Theme Groups' on the previously identified themes and sub- categories/themes. Both the number of groups to be formed, as well as the themes will depend on interest shown.

As we are looking to form 'theme groups', now is a good time to let us know if you have a specific interest in any of these topics.

If so, then please contact Cyril at Ty Bro Ddyfi, 52 Maengwyn Street, Machynlleth, Powys, SY20 8DT, Tel. 01654 700315; Email: Cyril@powys.gov.uk.

Ideas book

A bilingual 'Ideas book' containing every single idea, view and suggestion received to date, from you, the local people, saying what you feel is required to improve upon your quality of life, and for the sustainable regeneration of the Dyfi Valley, is shortly to be made a public document to provoke further comment.

This book, will be made available at numerous locations throughout the Powys area of the Dyfi Valley (dates and locations TBA), and will be updated regularly, so please feel free to put forward more of your ideas, views and suggestions. It is NOT an Action Plan, but will obviously be a useful tool to assist the Facilitator and Steering Group as they work towards forming an Action Plan for the Dyfi Valley.

This is YOUR OPPORTUNITY to have YOUR SAY on YOUR FUTURE.
