Broadband is a fast way of sending and receiving information over the Internet. For users at home it allows computer programmes, music and television from almost anywhere in the world to be delivered right to your own screen. For business users it can boost productivity and reduce costs, both beneficial to the local economy and jobs in this area. NewsAs of 19 April 2004 Machynlleth exchange (01654 700/702/703) has reached its 'trigger level' of 400 registrants. The exchange will be enabled for broadband technology on 1st September 2004. Corris reached its trigger level in February and has an enablement date of 28 July. The 200 registrations of interest required for Talybont were obtained within a 3-month period and that exchange is due to be enabled on April 28th. Line of sight between premises is poor in Glandyfi, so even a wireless solution may be difficult there.
